Description:
Arugula is one of those great, simple greens to grow at
home. Arugula performs best in spring to early summer. Arugula is an
aromatic salad green. It is also known as rocket, roquette, rugula and
rucola. It is popular in Italian cuisine. The leaves have a peppery
flavor.
Care:
Keep watered during hot weather. Performs best under cool
temperatures.
Harvesting:
Leaves will be ready to harvest in six weeks after planting,
when plants are between eight and ten inches tall. At the peak of freshness,
leaves are dark green and somewhat smooth. Harvest outer leaves as plant
matures or cut back plant to encourage growth.
