Most effective growing in the middle of the border, with a backdrop of taller plants behind it. Although not hardy over a large area, gardeners in many regions grow this as a self-seeding annual that comes back for years. Drought tolerant. Excellent for cutting and drying flowers. Flowers are fragrant and very attractive to butterflies.
